WAITING FOR GODOT

WAITING FOR GODOT

July 1997

"Waiting For Godot" was first performed in its French incarnation 'En attendant Godot' at the Theatre de Babylone on the left bank, in 1953. It has for a long time been recognized as one of the enduring miracles of twentieth century drama. Its themes are large; its action simple. It deals with the desolation at the root of comedy and the comedy that underlies all desolation.
